Riding stable

Duinmanege van Poelenburgh is a riding stable in the coastal town of Schoorl, The Netherlands. To meet the increasing demand for accommodation, the idea came to plan a new accommodation for about 60 guests. The aim was to develop a sustainable concept, which calls for a value-conserving, resource-friendly use of materials and construction. This design is inspired by the the horizontal and cubical image of the riding-hall and stabels. Two masses, rotated at a 90-degree angle from each other, clearly express the buildings interior funtions.Inside the entrance, corridors and hotelrooms are each characterized by different materials to show their hygienic properties.
